 TRANSPORTATION 



Content Based Materials on Transportation on class iv.

The content based materials i have designed is for grade iv social sturdies. the topic is transportation from social sturdies. the main objectives is to let children define transporting and which types of transportation suits the best in county like Bhutan. the tool I have used is power point presentation and video. like I mentioned in my pervious blog, video helps the learners to learn at their pace and appealing to all levels of learners. I have inserted my voice across the slides which aids auditory learners to learn better. 

How did I create the materials? 

As usual I collected information on transportation from internet and textbook. I also downloaded the some animated  pictures like: helicopter,car and boat that I am going to use in my presentation. after  competing collecting information I started making presentation on power point and added some pictures in my presentation. I add simple animation like, fly in to introduce my lesson topic and wipe, float, fade to following slide so that I can guide children from getting distracted. I have inserted animated pictures from internet to support the concept and make it interesting and understandable.  after putting animation and pictures on my slide, I recorded my slide in  X Recorder. I found this tools recently and it is very much reliable when recording our power point. we can show our face on our slide like Camtasia, it almost work las Camtasia.  

When to use the material? 

these materials can used in lesson development as well as in lesson closure. it can be used while doing activity to find answer by watching the video again. teacher can explain the topic through watching video as everything explained in video. 

Activity Instruction 

1.  You are going to do this activity with your shoulder partner. 

2. There are 3 question, each carries 2 marks.

3. You will get 10 minutes to complete the task. 

4. Since its open ended question, read it carefully and realize before answering. 

5. If you get struck when writing, go through the video again. 

6. Whoever finishes first and get all answer correct will be rewarded.  

7. After completing writing answer you will upload your sheet in our classroom group.

 SUBTRATION 

Content materials on subtraction for class 3

The content materials I have designed for grade three. the topic is subtraction from mathematics subject. the main objectives of the materials are to let students define what subtraction means correctly, know how to balance so that they both weights are equal and not one overpowering other. the tool I have used is simply power point presentation and animations to make it simple and understandable by the children .

How did I created the material? 

first I have collected information from google and textbook about subtraction and made a draft in my notebook, I also downloaded the some pictures that i am going to use in my presentation. after completing drafting in my book i started making presentation on power point and added some pictures in my presentation. I add simple animation like, fly in to introduce my lesson topic and wipe, float, fade to following slide so that i can guide children from getting distracted. I have inserted downloaded pictures from internet to support the concept and make it interesting and understandable. i made use of some sign shapes like equal and minus to show them clearly. after done with all presentation and adding animation i converted my into power point video. 

when to use the materials? 

the materials can be used during lesson development and lesson closure. the video provide the information input under lesson development and when teaching the concept of topic. while teaching if students don't understand, teacher can always pause the video and replay it, not only teacher students can also do same thing  when they are doing activities.

Activity instruction  

1. The activity will be done individually.

2. You will be provided with quiz link.

3. Read the question clearly. 

4. Choose the correct answer from given option.

5. For this you will get 5 minutes and each question carries one mark.

Note: You cannot attempt twice, so read the question clearly and choose the answer.

Greetings

 What is it?

This time I am here with new topic and new material for class 1 ,The subject I have chosen is English and the topic is Greetings. The main objective is to let children know what greeting means, why do we need to greet each other and when to say Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Thank you etc...Here children already have some background knowledge about greeting.

Procedure

To prepare the materials I have used Microsoft PowerPoint and video as a tool to design my materials. The main reason behind behind converting PowerPoint presentation into video is to appeal all levels of learners and their learning style, Even when they don't understand what their teachers is talking about, they can go through the video, watch it again and again to make it understand better, Thus, serving a multi-purpose and great too for effective learning.

I have also downloaded animated pictures from the internet in order to provide clear concept of the topic. I have also inserted my voice to the power point so that children get both audio and video lesson. I used different animation to make it more interesting while learning.

When to use.

The materials can be used in lesson introduction, lesson development and doing activity. In lesson development teacher will explain them the use of material. As explanation goes on children will learn when to say good morning, good afternoon, thank you, good evening etc...

I have designed an activity base on material to check whether children has understood the lesson or not. They can use video to answer their questions correctly.

Activity Instructions.

1. You are going to do the activity individually.

2. Before answering the the questions, watch the video more than 2 times to understand more and make note of it.

3. Make sure to answer all the questions correctly.

4. Those who got answers all correct will get a prize.

Hello everyone, this is my second post and I will share you what I have uploaded.

Now, let me introduce you all to my creation of materials. For my creation of materials, I have used PowerPoint as teaching and learning tools because it provides dynamic teaching styles which can employ all different types of learner. I have created PowerPoint in such a way that it can uphold the attention of students in a glimpse. Since my topic is an addition I took an advantage of tools which were provided by PowerPoint tools, in conjunction with that to make them more attractive and to help them understand in a realistic way I have downloaded some images from Google, Facebook, and other sources. Images were used in each slide to make meaning from it which will help (visual learner). I have also downloaded one video rhyme on addition which will help (visual and auditory learner) and the video will be shown after my explanation on some characteristics of addition. In order to wipe out the monotonous feelings of audiences while going through my presentation, I have used various ingredients of animation which includes entrance, emphasis, and exit in my PowerPoint presentation. Moreover, I have used hyperlinks in part of quiz slides that will be presenting during activities whereby I installed the applause audio if students get the correct answer. 

 

In specific the instructions for creating content based materials are as follows:

Ø  Firstly with proper planning and looking for an advantage I have chosen PowerPoint as my ICT tools for designing my materials as I stated earlier it provides teaching styles.

Ø  Depending upon my topic addition, I have downloaded some images and one video which are kind of familiar through which I can use it while formulating my slides in attractive.

Ø  Secondly before entering the zone of designing a presentation I make some notes to keep myself in a track which will help me to do a presentation in a systematic way because systematic is one of the techniques to make presentations better.

Ø  In the first slide, to make some glimpse of what will be learning in session, I kept some images of the addition sign.

Ø  In second and third slides, I have shown the meaning of addition plus some characteristics of addition by inserting some images which students will learn in concert as well as abstract manner.

Ø  From the fourth slide to seven slides I inserted some of the images to help representation of additional examples. In the example, I have included some of the additional examples which will help the student to enhance in a realistic (money addition which will learn in real form) manner.  

Ø  In seven slides I inserted one video on addition by which it gives the overview of the topic in which it indirectly helps (auditory and visual) learners.

Ø  From slide eight to thirteen I have kept it as activity part which includes problem solving( helps kinesthetic), quiz in which I have included the hyperlink in quiz part. I have inserted some image inactivity part in order to help those learn through visual.

Ø  For the correct answer I inserted applause sound with thumps up emoji and on the other hands for an incorrect answer, I wrote sorry plus inserted no emoji.

Ø  My activities are made in order to make the student think and the activities were designed to work them collaborative within the group which is modern pedagogy which also, sustain student learning.

 Content 

 I have created a content based materials for grade 1 on subject English on the topic domestic animals. the reason behind choosing this topic is that usually class one students know that animals like cow,dogs and cats live around human surrounding or with human but they don't know the proper term what to call that animals. also i found that it is suitable at their level. after learning domestic animals they will be able to know define what domestic animals really means, how domestic animals help framers in day to day life working and draw at least 2-3 favorite domestic animals of them. i have chosen Microsoft PowerPoint presentation  as a tool to design the content based material because it is an easy program to use and a powerful tool for giving a presentation. it is also one of the ways to captivate audience through use of pictures,video and animations.
I have created materials on the topic, domestic animals with their voice, since it mainly focus on ICT       integration to make learning materials for the students. I used power point to prepare my presentation, I used shapes to create animals and some I have downloaded from the google. this materials will used i lesson development when teacher explain what domestic animals mean and even also when they do activity.

 Self introduction.

Hello, I am Choki Yangden from Zhemgang Dzongkha. I am trainee student at Paro college of education with focus in primary education grew up in a family of farmer, we are six including myself and I am the second youngest in my family. I got enrolled in school when I was seven. From pp to 10 I studied within my Dzongkha, pp to six at Khomshar Primary School few minutes away from my home and 7 to 10 in Buli Middle Secondary School.

After 10 I couldn’t make to government high school so I lend up joining Uygen Academy higher secondary school in Punakha to continue my high school studies. From there I learned so many new things from friends. My stay in UA was the one of my best memories that I want to cherish lifelong. I learned how to change myself and accept others feelings, value something precious to me and how to respect both younger and elders. I also met a teacher whom I can proudly say my role model and inspiration in my life.

In 2017 I joined Paro College of education where I start seeing world differently, but to be frank I never wanted to be a teacher and never thought that I will be selected in this course. But when I went to teaching practice in third year my interest got broader and came to love my profession. I went Gunitsawa primary school which is 1 hours drive from Drugyel to do my teaching practice. Where I first experienced my teaching in real classroom, though it was tiring and exhausting from start I came to love after weeks ago. I enjoyed my teaching to the fullest.

Playing games is my favorite’s pastime and my hobby because it’s not just games I love but also socializing part that comes with it. I love meeting new people even though I am an introvert person. I like myself getting engaged in games during break and leisure time. I like listening to music, watching movies and help express our feelings through music. I think music is one of the best ways to control and express our emotions.

My strengths are my attitude that I like to take challenges that I can do it. My way of thinking that I take both success and failure in a balanced manner, I want to do good in everything without leaving  anything behind.
